Perfect Barn
Design

Tim and Kathy wanted to
build a barn that would grace their lake property and
provide a small apartment when visiting from up north.
They also desired storage for their antiques that will
decorate their future timber frame home. This 24 x 36
white oak barn/guest house uses a wonderful basic barn
design that can be modified, such as a colonial style
home. The main floor ceilings are 10 with a three foot
knee wall in the loft.

design is appealing to you, give us a call and check out
the many options available with this simple timber
frame.
An Airy
Porte-Cochere

The clients asked for a
carport, but we deemed it a porte-cochere and they love
it! John and Chris had envisioned a heavy timbered
structure to attach to their historical home located in
the Homesteads in Cumberland County. Chris looks forward
to driving in and appreciating the king post truss
design each day. This 20 x 22 three bent open style
timber frame is also very versatile. It would make a
marvelous great room addition to any style home or a
cozy outdoor shelter with a fireplace at the end.

The spline detail gives
it a certain artful look that added to the overall
appeal. Maybe you see another use for this charming
timber frame. Wed love to hear about it!
Smart Hybrid Timber Frame
Design

While able to keep our eyes on this panoramic view, we
successfully raised this hybrid timber frame in less
than six hours. The great room with cathedral ceiling
and kitchen/dining area behind was fun to design, fun to
build, and fun to put up. Finished photographs should be
up by September 2008!

Timber Frame Roof Trusses
for a Sunroom Addition

The
ceiling was what mattered to our clients in middle
Tennessee on this wonderful sunroom addition. A family
of engineers helped raise this oak roof system onto
conventionally built side walls with structural
insulated roof panels topping it off. They were thrilled
with the results and look forward to finishing it out
themselves. We'll have completed photos in a few months.

Georgia Pool House
- Enjoying Outdoor Living
Timber
framing was the perfect choice for this charming pool
house located in Carrollton, Georgia. This particular
project was designed with large hand hewn white pine
timbers. The sitting area/outdoor kitchen in front of
the fireplace will be open to the pool and pastoral
views. Changing rooms, bath, and mechanical room will be
constructed and enclosed behind the fireplace. We will
post finished photos when they become available.

This
very flexible hammer beam design can be also be used as
a striking entrance to commercial and residential
buildings as well as any type of outdoor structure. If
this appealing design fits something you have in mind,
give us a call or please

North
Carolina Artists' Home and Gallery
We have a client in North Carolina who was searching for a small regional company to work
with and they desired a traditional oak timber frame as
well. It was important for their home to be handcrafted
as they are both artisans. We have thoroughly
enjoyed getting to know them as clients and we feel they
are becoming good friends along the way. This
frame will be their studio, gallery and home.
We raised their frame in September 2007 and will continue to post photos of this home/gallery as it progresses.
