The Homesteads Tower Museum

During the New Deal Era in the 1930’s, FDR
authorized a community of nearly 300 homes
designed by William Macey Stanton to be
built on the Cumberland Plateau. You can
visit one of these homes completely restored
and learn more about this successful
experiment at the Tower Museum.
The Apple Festival – and annual event held
the 3rd weekend in September.

Cumberland Mountain State Park

This 1720 acre park was built in the 30’s
featuring the longest arched bridge built of
native stone by the CCC’s in the nation.
It’s now a very popular and beautiful park
with miles of trails, a large natural lake,
and a popular restaurant overlooking the
lake. A campground and original CCC built
cabins are available for a wonderful stay in
a beautiful part of the world.
