Mike and Sarah had dreamed of having a
simple "cabin in the Tennessee woods" for
themselves and their horses. This small cape
design fit their lifestyle perfectly. Built
over a full finished basement, this home
allows for an open floor plan with cozy
living areas on the main floor and guest
quarters downstairs. The lower level
includes a large hot tub in a screened in
area for relaxing after those long horseback
rides through the Big South Fork National
Wilderness Area where the cabin is located.
Handsome timber frames always begin in the
shop where our talented joiners do their
magic.
Bent One is going up with the other three
bents assembled on the deck.
A typical job site where the crane picks up
an oak bent - this one weighing
approximately 4500 lbs.
Our happy and tired crew after spending one
day "raising" Mike and Sarah's timber frame.
This home is
still being finished out by the owners. Mike
and Sarah are one of many of our clients who
choose to put finishing touches on their
home. Mike made and installed the paneling
used and is now working on custom kitchen
cabinets. The balcony railing is still to
come, but you can see the cozy feeling they
are striving for in the warmth of all the
wood. They both agree this small cabin style
home provides the lifestyle they dreamed of
as they raise and ride horses on the back
country trails that surround their property.
